If you happen to be in Lubbock the first weekend in May, I'll be debuting a new project - the Cathedral of Light. I'll be converting the CASP gallery into a giant camera obscura. Inside is a quiet space for reflection and contemplation where you can sit and watch the outside world projected onto a multitude of ephemeral, glowing surfaces. The projected light creates living photographs that seem to oscillate between the real and the unknown.
The show runs from 05/04 until 05/15. Opening night will occur during the First Friday Art Trail, with additional daytime hours 05/05-06 for those wishing to experience the Cathedral in a quieter setting. Full hours below -
Friday, May 4th: 10AM to 6PM; First Friday 6PM to 10PM
Saturday, May 5th: 10AM to 6PM
Sunday, May 6th: 1PM to 6PM
Monday, May 7th: 10AM to 6PM
Tuesday, May 8th: 10AM to 3PM
The camera will be located at the 5&J Gallery, 602 Avenue J, Lubbock, TX 79401.
